Chang, Yü-Chüan.-Born in Canton, 1880. Married, 1907. Studied at Anglo-Chinese College, Foochow, 1890-91; at Queen's College, Hongkong, 1892-93; at Peiyang University, Tientsin, 1894-97; at Imperial Tokyo University, Tokyo, Japan, 1898-99. Awarded various prizes for high standing in Chinese and English and Athletics, 1892, 1895 and 1896. Arrived in America, August, 1901. Government support. Studied Law at the University of California, 1901-2; at Yale University, 1902-5. LL.B., 1903; M.L., 1904. Attaché to the Chinese High Commissioners to Europe and America for the Investigation of Constitutional Government, 1905-6. Returned to China, June, 1906. Chin Shih, 1906.
