黄耀昌　字文南。年五十七岁。生于广东香山。兄瑞勋。深州知事。弟耀祺。本籍通信处。广东香山黄寓。已婚。子四。女六。光緖元年。以官费游美。入胡克中学校。及春野哈佛高等学校。光緖七年回国。任上海第一纱厂事。光緖十年。任上海某洋行事。旋为该洋行香港分行副经理。光緖二十二年。任该行宜昌分行经理。宣统元年。任上海招商轮船总局董事。京汉铁路汉口路局副局长。宣统三年。供职交通部。民国三年。任京汉铁路总局副局长。现时通信处。北京京汉铁路局。又北京东城大甜水井。

Wong, Yew-Cheong (Y. C. Wong).-Born in Hsiangshan, Kwangtung, 1860. Married, 1882. Studied at elementary schools, 1874-75. Arrived in America, 1875. Government support. Studied at Hooker Grammar School, Springfield High School and Hartford High School. Returned to China, September, 1881. Was with the first cotton mill at Shanghai, 1881-84. Chief Chinese Assistant, Butterfield and Swire Co. at Shanghai, 1884 and at Hongkong, 1884-96: Agent at its office in I-Chang, 1896-1908. Director, China Merchants' Steamship Co., Shanghai, 1909. Associate Director, Hankow Office, Peking-Hankow Railway, 1909-11. Mem-ber, Ministry of Communications, 1911-14. Assistant Managing Director, Peking-Hankow Railway, Peking, 1914-16.
